Hi Chris,
It looks fine. I’m looking forward to v2.0.18, so I can test it.

Hi Jan.
I think that problem is located now.
When I've changed serial port communication to low level access, somehow initialization method for winkey in that case was commented by mistake.
Of course, when you start WT and initialization bytes are sent to winkeyer, everything is OK. If you start another application after it, it is still working
because device was initialized earlier.
I was also testing this with MK2R+, but it seems that in that case initialization isn't necessary, probably it's done in the mk2r+ internally.
This fix is applied already, and should be available in v2.0.18.

Yes, I’ve tried that also.
The only way I can get WinKey to work in DXLog after restarting the computer is to first start Win-Test, open a contest, close Win-Test and then start DXLog.

But you say it still doesn't work at all? Did you try RTS Always ON?

Hi,
Yes, I' m using exactly that configuration in Win-Test, but there are no "Handshake" options in the WinKey setup in DXLog. There I use DTR=Always ON and RTS=Always OFF. I ended with those options after talking to Chris via email a couple of weeks ago.

From the WinkeyUSB manual:
"Winkeyer2’s baud rate is fixed at 1200 baud. The communications setup
should be set to eight bit data, 2 stop bits, and no parity."
So there is no way it is going to work at 9600 baud.
Jan, are you using 1200,N,8,2,DTR=Handshake, RTS=Handshake in the COM port
setup for the Winkey in DXLog.net? That's what Win-Test uses as the
defaults.
I guess DXLog.net needs a "Use Winkey defaults" button like Win-Test, to
ease COM port setup, or all the settings should be ignored when
device=Winkey.
I didn't have any trouble getting the Winkey in a microHAM MK2R+ to work
with DXLog.net, but of course that's not quite the same hardware as the
WinKeyer USB. The microHAM Router software probably does it's own Winkey
initialization whenever it is launched.

Hi,
maybe the winkeyer works with 9k6 on the usb - that was one of my main
challenges 1 year ago - only wintest could
open the winkeyer usb ... A total reset of winkeyer usb did the job and it
worked again in low speed and any
program could use it. Wintest checked the availability of winkeyer based
on possible connection speeds.
