Contents
New
Text command: NEW
This menu option will create new DXLog contest file in a windows folder of your choice.
Save the new contest with a meaningful name in a file directory (We advise creating a DXLog file
directory in your my documents folder), the contest will be saved with the .dxn file extension.
Open
Text command: OPEN
This menu option will open existing DXLog contest file.
Close
Text command: CLOSE
This menu option closes the currently open contest file.
DXLog stays open allowing a new contest file to be created, or an existing contest file to be re-opened.

- Reloads the current contest log and displays the configuration form.
- NB. Will also reload scripts and contest definitions.
REOPENNOW or RELOADNOW
- Reloads the current contest log without displaying the configuration form.
- NB. Will also reload scripts and contest definitions.
Import
With this option you can import QSO data from different sources.
- Cabrillo
- Creates a new DXLog log from a Cabrillo file.
- EDI
- Creates a new DXLog log from a EDI log file. This is commonly used format for VHF/UHF/SHF contests.
- ADIF
- This option is enabled with an active DXLog log.
- You can import QSO lines into active contest file from existing ADIF log file(s).
- Multiple files can be selected at import, and duplicate QSOs will be ignored during import and sorting.
Export
With this option you can export QSO data in different sources.
- Cabrillo
- Text command: WRITELOG
- This option will create new Cabrillo .LOG file from the current log. (Most contests expect logs submitted in this format).
- Example:

- This option will create new ADIF .ADI file from the current log. This format is typically used to transfer to web sites or to a master log.

- Checking the option "include X-QSO" will include also QSO marked invalid (a.k.a. X-QSO) in the export and all
- QSO will be include the application specific key APP_DXLOG_XQSO. This key has the value of "Y" for an invalid
- QSO and "N" for a valid QSO.
- DXLog will recognize this key at import to preserve the X-QSO status for each QSO in the log.
- Contest list to file
- This option will create comma-separated .TXT file with a listing of all supported contest.
- Each line contains three elements; the contest group, the contest name, and the live score contest name.
- Live score names containing {MODE} will have this replaced by the current mode when used.

- This option will create new ASCII Text .TXT file from the current log.

- This option will create new Log Search .LGS file from the current log.

- This option will create new Log Summary .SUM file from the current log.

Merge logs
Only available with an open log.
Allows the merging of different DXLog log files for the same contest and callsign to be merged into a single log file.
To mark several files, hold down [Ctrl]
while selecting files in the file dialog box.
Clean log
Only available when no log is open.
Offers various options for cleaning up a log file.
Open configuration folder
Opens a Windows Explorer window with DXLog's configuration folder.
Quit
Text command: EXIT or BYE
This menu option will close the current log, release all interfaces and exit DXLog.
Note: You will be prompted to confirm you want to quit.
